When discussing women's health, particularly during the complex phase of perimenopause, it is important to acknowledge that simply stating a woman's hormones are normal does not provide a comprehensive understanding of her experience.

In fact, only 2% of animals menstruate as we do. We would be much better served by studies being done on the spiny mouse (which actually does menstruate like us!).
